Below is what we consider the five processes that comprise the managment of our projects. The specific phases within a project however, are unique to each project.
Initiation – the projects need, problem or goal is identified.
Planning – the team work together to plan all of the needed steps to produce a successful project. The processes are iterative and it’s expected that planning will happen often throughout the project.
Execution – once the project plan has been created, the team concentrate on developing the project to create the deliverables. The project can shift to project planning as needed throughout project execution.
Monitoring and controlling – as the project is being executed by the team, the project manager monitors and controls the work for cost, time, scope, risk, quality and other important factors of the particular project The monitoring process is also ongoing throughout the project to make sure targets are being met.
Closing – With the end of each phase/project, closure happens to make sure work as been completed and is approved.
